The Royal Botanic Garden in Edinburgh has a photographic competition and the finalists are currently on display.
The Botanic Garden in Edinburgh is famous for its amazing collection of plants and is a favourite place for the people of Edinburgh (and further afield) to wander among the trees and landscape, right in the centre of the city. It has a photography competition and we are delighted that Andrew had two images shortlisted and went on to win the Youth award with his photo of Loch Achray. All the photos are currently on display in the John Hope Gateway. The exhibition is free and the standard of photography is very high, so it is definitely worth a visit.
Organised by the Friends of RBGE as a fundraising initiative for the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh, the competition attracted over 1,000 entries. There were 30 finalists in this exhibition with winners being announced at a special event on 7 March when conservation photographer and guest judge, Peter Cairns, awarded the prizes and talked about his journey into photography.
