He was the 2017 UK Young Landscape Photographer of the Year, won the Youth "Urban View" category in 2018 and the Youth "Classic View" category in 2020. He was then invited to be part of the judging panel of that same competition in 2021. His winning photographs have been published in The Times, The Herald and The Scotsman, amongst other publications. He was the 2019 Young Scottish Landscape Photographer of the Year having also won it in 2018, and being runner-up in both 2016 and 2017. He also won the Junior Scottish Nature Photographer of the Year in 2017 and 2018 and was shortlisted in the Outdoor Photographer of the Year Competition 2018.
His work has been featured by organisations such as FIFA and the BBC, leading to his own online article on the BBC website.
As if that wasn’t enough, he was the winner of the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh Photographic Competition, Youth Category, and was also a finalist in the 2016 Festival of Architecture’s Inspiring Spaces photo competition which was exhibited at the Scottish Storytelling Centre in Edinburgh. Andrew also has an interest in automotive photography and regularly posts his work on Instagram.
Grant mainly works in Scotland’s natural environment, but he also enjoys photography in an urban context, as well as at corporate and sporting events. Grant received commendations in the UK Landscape Photographer of the Year Competition in 2021 and 2022 and was also a finalist in the British Photography Awards in 2022. He was shortlisted in the Scottish Landscape Photographer of the Year Competition from 2017 through to 2023 with a portfolio commendation in 2022.
